Attacking gender norms...
Originally produced at the 2013 Minnesota Fringe Festival, Men Will Be Boys is an entertaining, yet critical look at how young men and boys are raised into institutional sexism, and how this treatment short-changes their ability to be whole individuals by presuming they aren't capable of behaving better. And perhaps there's never been a better time to deconstruct these issues.
In 2015, MWBB received fantastic praise in Both St. Louis and Chicago:
Chuck Lavazzi of St. Louis' KDHX says, "...Mr. Moore's stories have a moral, but they're skillfully woven and thoroughly engaging."
Michelle Kenyon of the St. Lou Fringe Ghostlight says, "This is an intriguing and very well-constructed production, with a strong performance by Moore... a show that makes a lot of excellent points and carries a very important message."
Kevin Greene of New City Stage raved, "The transformation actor Scot Moore undergoes as he navigates a series of increasingly likeable and well-rounded characters feels profoundly personal. There is the unshakeable sense that “Men Will Be Boys” is not only a well-sculpted work of art but one that allowed the artists working on it to come to terms with their own faults rather than presenting themselves as flawless ambassadors of higher reason."
But it doesn't end there! Want to bring MWBB to a college or university near you? Please email Scot and this can be arranged.
